Global Seals supplier continues facility expansion to accommodate new products.

Since Eastern Seals (UK) Ltd commenced trading in 2007, the company’s customer base has continued to grow, resulting in demand for more stock to be held. Eastern Seals first expanded their warehouse facility in Ashington, Northumberland in 2011 to accommodate both the increase in stock volumes and the increasing number of stock items.

The company has since expanded their range with new products, attracting new customers, and last month acquired UK Seals and Polymers Ltd, one of the UK’s leading distributors of hydraulic and pneumatic sealing solutions. Top that with their popular online ordering facility, Managing Director, Diane Reach quickly identified the need for more space to accommodate the increasing stock levels.

When the recent opportunity to take over the neighbouring building became available, the company immediately pursued the 10,000 square ft facility. This warehouse expansion will allow Eastern Seals to continue to supply new lines of products and expand their markets further. The investment has been prompted by demand for Eastern Seals’ high-quality solutions, particularly in overseas markets.

The company supplies NORSOK M-710 approved compounds, and specialist materials for the Aerospace, Defence, Pharmaceutical, Power, Construction and Automotive industries.

Diane Reach, Managing Director of Eastern Seals (UK) Ltd, said: “This new investment demonstrates Eastern Seals’ strength as well as the ongoing confidence from our customers and suppliers. Over the last three years we have seen record levels of turnover, fuelled by growing demand for our specialist sealing products.

“Despite the economic down-turn, we have seen significant growth and demand for our products Worldwide, winning several new contracts, with the chance to bid for even more substantial projects” – this is the main reason for expanding our warehouse facility. Work to merge the existing unit into a 34,000 square ft warehouse facility is almost complete. We are all excited about the opportunities this addition will bring to our facility, and we are looking forward to its completion.”

With over 80 million rings across 10,000 individual sizes, Eastern Seals’ stock holding ensures that the company remains highly competitive within the market for both large and small enquiries.

Eastern Seals have achieved many customer approvals and referrals based on the high quality of the products and the service they supply. All approved suppliers are chosen based on the quality of their product, and most have supplied the company for several years. The global sealing provider ensures that all suppliers have a minimum quality registration to ISO9001:2008 and this is monitored in house by further quality checking on receipt of goods.
