It features a 45-degree jointed scarf cut and is hot-bonded through a vulcanization process. Vulclast® O-rings are made from a variety of high-quality materials, including Viton, Nitrile, HNBR (Hydrogenated NBR), Silicone, and EPDM, all of which are sourced from extruded cord. The term “Vulc” may sometimes be used as shorthand in the industry, but it’s essentially a condensed form of the word “vulcanized or Vulcanised.” Unlike other O-rings that rely on adhesives or glues for bonding, Vulclast® employs generic compounds, ensuring a more robust and reliable joint. While some competitors might refer to similar products as hot-glued, cord rings, bonded rings, spliced, or simply glued, Vulclast® stands out for its superior bonding technique.
