Seals for the Marine industry.
It’s been a busy few months, and there has been a growing demand for a range of seals in the marine industry. In particular, naval fleets from countries around the world, including Malaysia and Australia.
Eastern Seals‘ products are recognised by marine engineers for their quality and reliability. We supply a highly diverse range of fluid sealing items and other specialised products to the world’s commercial and naval fleets, as well as to shipyards and original equipment manufacturers.
We also work closely with design engineers of marine equipment to provide bespoke sealing solutions that can be used with confidence in all areas of the marine industry. We boast a well established range to suit all types of pumps and compressors associated with the marine and shipping markets. Seal solutions include; Gland packings, Hydraulic seals, retaining rings / circlips, V-rings, O-rings and Rotary Shaft seals:
Eastern Seals currently holds stock of more than 80 million rings across 10,000 individual sizes. We offer a wide range of specialist O-rings including NORSOK M-710 approved materials, low temperature and high temperature compounds.
Our extensive range of gland packings covers every marine gland-sealing duty. Gland packings are square braided on the most advanced machines available. Twenty-four and thirty-six track braiders produce four-ply, square inter-braid packings on all sizes. Packing sizes start from 3/8” (10mm) upwards. Fibres are run from the core of the packing section to the corner posts and surfaces. The cross-locked, square lattice construction produces maximum resilience and a highly dense square packing.
Retaining rings are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. We supply standard types of rings as well as self-locking, radial assembly, rings for compensation of axial play, snap-rings and support washers / shims.
In addition to standard rings, we also offer our customer’s competitive pricing on items manufactured to their individual requirements.
Oil seals / Rotary Shaft seals are produced by vulcanising an elastomer to a metal ring. This acts as a stiffener, and utilising a metal tensioning spring behind the sealing lip. These seals conform to DIN 3760. Many other designs can be supplied. These include, High Pressure, Dual Spring and end caps. Rubber types available are Nitrile, Viton ®, Silicone and EPDM. The most common elastomer used is Nitrile.
Hydraulic seals refer to any type of seal used in a fluid system. They are available in many different sizes and materials, often custom-designed to fit a particular application. We stock a range of durable and hard-working hydraulic seals for use across the marine industry.
V-rings seal axially against a counter-face. This type of seal has proved to be reliable and effective against dust, dirt, water and oil splash and other media. The body of V-rings rotate with the shaft and holds itself in position by its elastic fit on the shaft. Sealing is produced by the contact between the lip and the counterface. Eastern Seals can supply V-rings in both Nitrile and Viton.
We have a complete network of global suppliers, therefore allowing us to offer the best possible service and prices to all our customers. We also offer same day collection and delivery services within the UK and many European destinations.
